Committee meeting are open to members only.

The membership committee was formed to educate the businesses in and out of Lakewood Ranch on the benefits of an Alliance membership. The committee is also responsible for manning the check-in tables during luncheons and social events to greet all attendees. Delivering welcome kits to new members and helping with any Special projects as assigned.

Committee participation is limited to members of the Alliance and offers an additional opportunity to meet other members. Committees also help to guide the future direction of the Alliance.

Our next membership meeting will be held at the SMR Headquarters located at 14400 Covenant Way ~ Lakewood Ranch, Fl 34202.

Mr. Jensen will be making a special presentation of the history of Lakewood Ranch in celebration of the 15 year anniversary of the first home built in the community. Learn more about the legacy of a great American family and the lasting tribute to their success as good stewards of the land.

Space is limited and RSVP is required.

Cancellations made after 2 days prior to the event will be invoiced since guarantees have been made on your behalf.

A networking opportunity will be available from 11:30 am - 12:00 pm with lunch and presentation from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm.

Members are $25 and Non members are $35.

The Public Relations committee was formed to assist with marketing material content, management and distribution, coordination and content of the bi-monthly newsletter, website content, and LWRBA press releases. The committee also handles accurately communicating issues affecting the membership and researches opportunities for the Alliance to gain additional exposure. Special projects are also assigned when needed.

Committee participation is limited to members of the Alliance and offers an additional opportunity to meet other members. Committees also help to guide the future direction of the Alliance.

Retail Committee Meetings are open to members only

The Retail committee was formed to assist the retail merchants of LWR create a voice for themselves. Some of their goals are as follows.

1. Work with membership committee to sign up more retailers to the Alliance.

2. Have a Retail Committee of approximately 7 people (made up of retailers throughout east Manatee and Sarasota counties).

3. The Committee will help to keep the Alliance abreast of the business climate of retail in the area.

4. The Committee will try to advise the Alliance of any and all closing or openings in the given areas as well as the condition of business taking place.

5. To take on any duties that the Alliance feels would be beneficial.

A networking opportunity will be available from 7:30 am -8:00 am while a continental breakfast is provided by the Culinary Institute of Keiser University.

Program will run from 8:00 am - 9:00 am. Members are $15 per person and Non – Members are $25 per person.

About the speakers: As President and CEO of Tervis Tumbler Company, Laura Spencer oversees all areas of the company that manufacturers America’s favorite insulated drinkware. She is also a member of the privately held company’s board of directors. She first joined Tervis in 1997 as Controller. She was promoted to the positions of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively, before taking the reins as Chief Executive Officer in November 2006. Laura is a graduate of the University of Florida and a 2010 graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. She is a graduate of Leadership Sarasota 2006 and the Gulf Coast Leadership Institute 2008. She is an Executive Board Member of the Economic Development Corporation (EDC). Laura was recently recognized as the 2008-2009 Outstanding Florida CPA in Business & Industry by the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She has lived in the Sarasota area since age three and is a graduate of Sarasota High School. Laura resides in Sarasota with husband, Scott and son, Kevin.

Music on Main - Benefiting Not -for- Profit - LWRBA (1 Oct 2010)

The Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance has been selected as the benefiting charity for the October Music on Main series.

This event will be held on the 1st, which is the first Friday of the month from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm . It’s the perfect opportunity to wind down from the summer while you enjoy some fresh air and great music by "Lounge Cat Band". Stay for dinner…..restaurants and food vendors will be open. Lawn chairs and pets welcome.

Come out and support the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance Proceeds from the beer and wine sales go towards offsetting the costs of current events, future events and educational programs.

This event is open to the public.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS.....

We are also looking for LWRBA members who would like to volunteer their time to come out and help pour beer ad wine at the event. If you are interested in helping out please click on the register tab. We have 2 shifts (5:30 - 7:30) and (7:30 - 9:30)
